Hemsedal has one of the best snow records in Europe, with virtually guaranteed snow from November until late April. With tree lines slopes, huge powder bowls and massive off piste opportunities this is a resort which suits all levels of ability, and also the accommodation standards are very good too.
Beginners and families will find this resort a perfect destination to start skiing, with lovely sunshine and wide cruising greens to master this lovely sport.
The English speaking instructors from the local ski school make learning fun and safe, and they will teach skiers from as young as 3 years old. The crèche and kindergarten offer excellent child care options for babies over 6 months and many of the hotels will do an evening baby sitting service by qualified nannies.
Intermediates skiers will love the choice and challenges this beautiful resort has to offer, with over 30 reds and blues to improve on, enjoy the breathtaking views before taking off down one of the many runs back into the village.
Advanced skiers will enjoy the unrivalled off piste opportunities and the many challenges that this resort offers. There is a great selection of blacks and a couple of verticals too.
Apres ski in Hemsedal is traditional, the village is very pretty with a lovely selection of shops, bars and cafés. There is also a lovely choice in restaurants too, offering many different options. Many family friendly places too and a good selection of shops and boutiques.
The non ski activities here almost out do the fabulous skiing on offer. Maybe you are travelling in a mixed group of ages, you can all do things together and enjoy the quality fun times too, try a husky dog safari, snow mobile safari, or maybe ice climbing, horse drawn sleigh rides, tobogganing, bowling or cross country skiing too. And that’s all when you have finished winding down after a days skiing in the beautiful spa’s and wellness centres.
