Fischer

3 stars

Right in the heart of town is the Hotel Fischer. It's run by the very friendly and welcoming Michael Grander and his cheerful team. If you've ever been to St Johann, you've probably enjoyed a drink in the bar here, Michi's - and if you haven't been yet, we're sure you will. From outside, it looks like a traditional Tyrolean hotel, which it is. Once inside though, the rooms are nicely decked out with a modern feel – but still some classic Tyrolean charm. The Fischer is the sister hotel to the Hotel Park and, as the Fischer is further from the slopes, you're welcome to store your skis at the Park for free. The walk to the lifts will take around 8-9 minutes or, alternatively, you can make the most of the free ski buses around town.Food at the Fischer is highly rated too - from the fresh breads on the breakfast buffet to the well designed home-cooked evening meals. If you like a sauna after a day out on the slopes, you're in luck. And to make up for there not being a pool at the hotel, they've managed to arrange free entry to the local Panoramabad public pool each day.

All rooms have a cable TV, safe and hairdryer, and are non-smoking. Cots are available to hire, free of charge, upon request.Small Double Room - sleeps 2: Located above the bar with double bed, private shower and WC.Small Twin Room - sleeps 2: Located above the bar with separate twin beds, private shower and WC.Triple Room - sleeps 2-3: Austrian twin beds, single sofa bed, private bath and WCTriple Room (with balcony) - sleeps 2-3: Austrian twin beds, single sofa bed, private bath, WC and balcony.Quad Room - sleeps 2-4 (max 3 adults): Austrian twin beds, single sofa bed, private shower and WC.Superior Triple Room - sleeps 2-3: Austrian twin beds, single sofa bed, private shower and WC.Superior Quad Room - sleeps 2-4 (max 3 adults): Austrian twin beds, double sofa bed, private shower and WC.Single Room - sleeps 1: Single bed, private shower, WC and balcony.Austrian twin bedsAustrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.
