It’s a short 10-minute uphill walk to the centre – but there’s a handy t-bar lift close by that will take you straight to the main ski area. At the end of the day, you can ski right back to your door.The apartments all come will well-equipped kitchenettes, ski lockers next to the front door and drying cabinets for all your ski gear. In the evenings, you can relax in your own private sauna or get cosy in front of the roaring log fire.Ruka village is generally pretty laid back, but there are plenty of bars and restaurants to try if you fancy a break from cooking. There’s also a reasonably priced supermarket that’s handy for stocking up. If you’ve got the family in tow, you could spend a few hours at the bowling alley or indoor adventure play area – and definitely don’t miss out on trying some of the incredible winter activities on offer.
