The term âsmall and friendlyâ was made for guesthouses like the Pension Birkenhof, with it's homely atmosphere provided by the Moigg family. Itâs a little away from Mayrhofenâs busy centre and the Penken gondola â about a 10-minute walk - so youâre never too far away for skiing and nights out, but far enough that you can escape for a bit of peace and quiet. Also, the ski bus stop and train station are just a few minutes by foot for when you want to explore more of the Ziller Valley.Donât expect too many mod-cons - the rooms at the Birkenhof are simply furnished, although youâll have a comfy bed for the night, an ensuite bathroom and a balcony. Youâll also get a filling continental buffet for breakfast. The cosy lounge area has a wood-burning fireplace for warming your toes after a day out on the mountain. Plus, there's free WiFi for staying in touch with friends back home - although if you're planning on streaming movies there may be a charge.
