If you’re more interested in being first on the slopes than having five star amenities, then the Fernie Slopeside Lodge is for you. As the name suggests, this no frills hotel is just a snowball’s throw from the lifts, so you can be on the mountain in minutes. The rooms are basic but comfortable and have a microwave and mini fridge, plus free WiFi. The facilities are limited but there are two whirlpools and a secure ski locker for every room. Attached to the hotel is the Mountain Pantry, where you can stock up on food and drink for the week – or just treat yourself and enjoy the many restaurants and bars that Fernie had to offer.
