If you want a ski-in, ski-out hotel in the Banff/Lake Louise area then this is it – literally. At the top of Sunshine Mountain, you get to ski at least 30 minutes' every day before everyone else. It’s this and the experience of staying at the top of a ski resort which is what we love about the Sunshine Mountain Lodge. In the evening it’s pretty quiet, just hotel guests in the restaurants, bar and pub – some jumping out of the hot tub to roll on the ski slope. But when the snow’s falling in the evening, you just want to get to bed early as you know you’re the first person on the slopes the next day.
