St Moritz Guide

In St Moritz alone, beginners and families have easy access to the slopes, the main funicular is in the village centre and will take you straight to the main nursery slopes and ski school. There is 18 easy blue runs too, once you find your feet. Corviglia also has some breathtaking runs, wide sunny slopes and is easily reached by the local ski bus, which usually is free with a local l;Life pass. The ski school is excellent, with English speaking instructors offering instruction for people of all ages. There is also plenty child care options too, from non ski crèches to learn to ski kindergarten.

Intermediate skiers should take advantage of the full ski area, and purchase an all area lift pass, as there is a fantastic selection of difficult blues and reds throughout the entire ski area. Corvatsch offers a huge choice along with Corviglia, where you can experience long, cruising runs, some exceeding 8 kilometres.

Advanced skiers have excellent scope here in St Moritz, there is excellent choices of Olympic runs in the Corvaglia area or try the 8 kilometres downhill challenge from Surlej to Hahnensee and also the Lejins black runs. Also the off piste opportunities are superb too.

Snowboarding in St Moritz is fabulous, with superb cruising terrain to suit all boarders, not to mention the excellent choice of jumps, half pipes and obstacles in the free style areas. The queues are often kept to a minimum due to the excellent lift system too.

Non ski activities in St Moritz are as popular as the skiing, the list is endless to be fair. Show jumping on ice, Polo in snow, Cricket on ice, White Turf racing and a cross country marathon are to name but a few. There is a bob sleigh run, a health spa, sleigh rides, curling, ice skating and tobogganing.

The Apres ski is fantastic, with shops, bars, cafés and restaurants to suit every taste and budget. The general feel is a lively, exciting one with live music and a wide exciting array of activities in the village, makes this a perfect destination for skiers, non skiers and families alike.
