Davos Guide
Davos has a stake in 5 separate ski areas, offering over 300 kilometres of world class piste, it is an areas which caters for all levels of skiers and is accessed by a really efficient ski bus service and incredible rail system. The views of this beautiful tree lined resort are breathtaking and the pine trees add excitement and difficulty to many of the runs, whilst adding shelter to the nursery slopes.
Beginners and families have been coming to Davos for years and years, with lovely wide, cruising runs and easy access to the nursery slopes from the village hotels and apartments. Davos has an excellent selection of greens and blues to learn on and the local ski school offers excellent English speaking instruction.
There is a good selection of baby care to in the various hotels and a creche and kindergarten where your children can experience skiing in a safe and secure environment.
Intermediate skiers are best catered for in Davos, with half the piste dedicated to that standard. With over 200 kilometres of reds and difficult blues to choose from on one lift pass, its no wonder improver’s return here year after year. The off piste action is incredible too and the tree lined, long runs, some over 7 kilometres makes this a prefect destination for intermediates.
Advanced skiers have access to many difficult runs, there is a great run from The Weissfluhgipfel down to Kublis, with verticals, moguls and over 8 kilometres in length, that will challenge even the most expert skier. The off piste opportunities are amazing too, with some fabulous virgin snow and steep chutes to experience.
Davos was recently recognised as a true boarders paradise, with snow parks, free styles areas and long cruising runs to keep every boarder satisfied. With 5 different mountains to ski, its no wonder, boarders return time and time again.
Did you know that Davos has one of the largest natural ice rinks too, over 40 kilometres of ice that you can skate on!! But there is many non ski activities on offer here too, such as curling, walks, sleigh rides, tobogganing and horse riding, Davos also has a lovely selection of attractive shops and boutiques.
The Apres Ski in Davos is excellent with many bars, cafés and restaurants on offer and a good variety of family friendly or lively entertainment is available.
