Beitostolen in Norway has got to be one of the most amazing winter wonderlands. Set 1000 metres above sea level, it offers some beautiful ski conditions and many other non ski activities too.

There is approximately 20 kilometres of well groomed piste and some simply stunning scenery to enjoy into the bargain.

Beitostolen Guide

This pleasant resort is more suited to couples or families looking for a quiet resort, with literally no queues and plenty of gentle runs to improve on and the quality hotels and apartments just at the base of the mountain. Only 40 kilometres from the airport too, giving you a nice short transfer.

Beitostolen is best suited to families or couples who want to try skiing maybe for the first time, but with a great selection of non ski activities in case they don’t like it. Beistostolen has a lovely beginners area, with wide, sunny gentle runs and one of Norway’s best English speaking ski schools. Tuition is available to everyone over the age of 3 years old and many hotels offer excellent baby sitting services.

Intermediates are well catered for in this region with a great selection of blues and reds to ski, the lift system has no queues and the off piste opportunities are fantastic too.

Advanced skiers are fairly limited here, with a couple of black runs and some more difficult runs, and although may not offer the challenges of larger resorts, there is some beautiful powder chutes to explore off piste.

Bietostolen has amazing facilities and conditions for anyone wanting to snow board, there is a terrain park, with jumps, rails and a half pipe, and again, off piste options are endless.

This resort is a fantastic area for laid back, traditional apres ski, there is many bars, cafés and restaurants to enjoy and many apres ski night time activities on offer.

The non ski opportunities here are huge, snowmobiling, husky dog mini safari, dinner in a teepee, tobogganing, sleigh rides, snow rafting, air boarding and snow scooters to name but a few.
