Champoluc Guide
Beginners will enjoy the sunny, gentle slopes near the village centre where you can join the ski school. The ski school has friendly English speaking instructors and you can opt to join ski school for the whole week or take a private lesson, and although a little more expensive, you do get more one on one tuition so may progress a little quicker.
Families enjoy these pretty resorts with wide, child friendly runs and the options of crèche and kindergarten available too.
Intermediates are definitely best suited to Champoluc, with over 39 runs just in this area. However an all area lift pass will take you to neighbouring Gressoney, plus an option of two days skiing in Cervinia, Pila, La Thuile or Courmayeur, all intermediate Mecca’s each offering a minimum of 100km of difficult blues and challenging reds, and impressive snow records too.
Advanced skiers have access to the same areas as the intermediates as well as 6 fantastic blacks, offering steep chutes, dynamic drops and mogul fields. You can get many miles under your belt too with the incredible off piste and the ski school with hire you a guide to take you to areas you only dream off.
Snowboarders will love the wide cruisy runs this resort has to offer, and well at the top notch terrain parks with flicks and tips to entertain.
Après ski in Champoluc is fairly laid back and family friendly with a very beautiful village centre, a handful of bars and pubs and a good selection of places to wine and dine. For a livelier evening, you could always head into neighbouring Gressoney where there is a selection of livelier bars and a couple of clubs/discos.
Non ski options include a natural ice rink, dog sledding and walking trails.
