Kirchberg also proves popular due to the many ski festivals and competitions held in the Kitzbuheler region every season, and that’s before you take into account the lovely locals and their famous Austrian hospitality.

Beginners and families continue to return to this region for many reasons, mainly because its cheaper than its neighbour Kitzbuhel and still offers the same quality skiing on the same lift pass.

The nursery slopes in Kirchberg’s mountain, Gaisberg are safe, sunny and offer wide quiet areas to learn on and once you have found your feet a little, you can always head of to the main ski areas where there is a multitude of gentle greens and blues to progress on.

The English speaking ski school offers excellent tuition regardless of your ability and also offer great childcare options, from crèche to kindergarten or ski lessons.

Intermediates are well suited to Kirchberg, with over 80 blues and 80 reds to choose from on the same lift pass, you really will be spoiled for choice. The Kitzbuhler Ski Circus is amazing and the off piste opportunities are massive and extremely challenging.

Advanced skiers have a good selection of difficult reds and plenty blacks, everyone must try the extremely challenging downhill of Hannenkham, previously voted the worlds most difficult run.

Again the choice is hug and there is a great selection of vertical chutes, mogul fields and off piste options too.

Snowboarders have a great selection of free ride areas, and a choice of two dedicated snow parks, the best being on the Kitzbuhlerhorn parks. The lift system is excellent and the runs tend to be less crowded making it perfect for boarders.

Nightlife

Apres ski in Kirchberg tends to be more relaxed with a good selection of family friends bars and cafés and a good choice of restaurants too, however livelier Kitzbuhel is also accessible by local ski bus and offers live music, nightclubs and even a casino.
