Fieberbrunn Guide

Fieberbrunn is a large resort, comprising over 86 acres of land with over 1100 metres of vertical descent, many consider it a skiers’ paradise. There are also 13 lifts, of which 3 are chairlifts. Despite its size, the resort retains a traditional atmosphere. Unlike many other resorts Fieberbrunn is not commercialised and locals are very welcoming. Visiting Fieberbrunn gives you an authentic Austrian experience, as a result many skiers come back year after year.

Fieberbrunn is unique in that it specialises in intermediate skiers, yet still has enough to keep beginners and experts entertained. On piste, there is plenty for beginner and intermediate level alike, with great facilities and excellent ski conditions. Slopes are wide, gentle and have fantastic views of the stunning scenery surrounding the slopes. Off piste, advanced level skiers flock to this resort to take advantage of freeriding opportunities.

The resort also hosts Austria’s Big Mountain competition as well as a world famous freeride event. This region attracts some of the best skiers in the world making it a fantastic destination for experts.

If you are an avid snowboarder, Fieberbrunn makes an ideal setting for a snowboard trip. The resort has a well-equipped, snow park which is ideal for advanced snowboarders.

Nightlife

Skiing is not the only attraction, Fieberbrunn has a lively nightlife and a busy social scene too. The resort is ideally suited to families and couples who want some apres-ski entertainment but are not seeking a large selection of night clubs open until the early hours. The nightlife available is suitable for most skiers and includes five vibrant bars to keep you entertained and even one nightclub for those of you who want to dance the night away.

Activities

Besides skiing, there is plenty to do at this resort. Although the ski facilities are superb you may enjoy a change of activity now and again. Fieberbrunn doesn’t just cater to skiing, it is an all round winter wonderland. This means there is plenty of other snow themed activities for you and the kids to take part in. For example, you may wish to try your hand at tobogganing. Additionally, there are sleigh rides which are ideal for the children and adults with a sense of adventure.

Fieberbrunn also has a natural ice rink, the perfect place for ice skating. This is a great opportunity to try your hand at this graceful activity in the most picturesque of surroundings. The resort puts on many different activities throughout the week to help you have a wonderful stay. Each week there are events such as a ski show and even a ski instructors’ ball. If you want a break from the snow, there is also a swimming pool available; horse riding lessons and paragliding experiences.

Eating Out

At Fieberbrunn you are really spoilt for choice when it comes to food. The resort has 30 restaurants for you to choose from. Many restaurants serve local cuisine including fondues and strudel. However, there are some restaurants that serve different cuisines from across the globe. These include a Mexican restaurant and a number of Pizzerias. La Pampa is a popular restaurant serving high quality steak and fish dishes. Some resorts can be a little pricey, Fieberbrunn on the other hand is excellent value for money.

Some of the best hotels are located right next to the slopes meaning you are perfectly located for a skiing holiday. Accommodation comes to suit a range of budgets.

Getting there and away

It is easy to get to Fieberbrunn from the UK. Salzburg airport is the closest to this resort and there are regular flights to this destination from a wide selection of airports across the UK. This trip takes approximately one hour in the car and transfers are available. If you wish to travel by train, there is a train station at Fieberbrunn itself.
