Alpendorf is a wonderful Austrian hamlet located near to St Johann. This resort is very central for skiing many different ski areas in this region. Alpendorf is a wonderful resort for families and has a wonderful ski school with English speaking instructors; it’s a perfect location for children to learn to ski. Many operators offer free lift passes and other deals on kiddies equipment so be sure to ask your travel agent. The vast area around Alpendorf is wonderful for all levels of skier too, with many long cruisy reds and tree lined runs to add to the excitement. The weather is usually excellent making the conditions perfect for a ski holiday in Austria.

Alpendorf’s Après Ski is relaxed and laid back although there are plenty of places to grab a drink after a hard days skiing. The beautiful village is very traditional in style and hosts a good selection of restaurants too. Live music is popular, especially on weekends where many locals gather to enjoy the skiing and nightlife. Families are welcome in most bars and are all family friendly too.

There are a few non ski activities too including floodlit tobogganing, a great way to spend some of your evening and great family fun too. There is also an Ice rink, tennis courts and a fitness centre with many spa treatments available. St Johann is slightly larger and many of the ski buses run late into the night so getting around is easy if you wish for something a little busier now and again.
